Brigada Eskwela 2020: Igniting the power of Cooperativism

August 20 2020

Ligas Kooperatiba ng Bayan sa Pagpapaunlad in coordination with Ligas KBP Foundation, Inc., jointly conducted Brigada Eskwela 2020 through donating bond papers, bleach, alcohol and foot mat with disinfectant solutions to 10 schools covered by LKBP Branches in Bulacan, Pampanga, Bataan and Nueva Ecija. The spread of Coronavirus has greatly affected the education system worldwide that leads to temporarily closure of some schools, colleges and universities. Thus, the Department of Education introduces a Self-Learning Modules (SLMs) with different learning modalities to be distributed by teachers to students. Online classes are held nationwide in the Philippines. The new normal in the education system brought by Covid-19 made the schools and teachers to seek for paper donations for the printing of the modules of students, thus creating the “Bond paper mo, Module ko” online campaign. Thus, LKBP decided to donate bond papers and to include sanitary and disinfecting materials. Mr. Jeffrey V. David, Principal I of Paraiso Elementary School in Dinalupihan, Bataan expressed his views on the new set-up in the education system implemented by the DepEd. “This new normal in the learning process of our students is a big challenge to us teachers. We have a of lot of things to do in preparation for the opening of the classes. Of course, there is fear and doubt, but with the support of the Department of Education, with our co-teachers here in Paraiso Elementary School, we will get through this. We need to adapt to change”, he said. The other school beneficiaries are the following: Felizardo C. Lipana High School in Sta. Rita, Guiguinto, Bulacan; Cut-Cut Elementary School in Tuktukan, Guiguinto, Bulacan; Engr, Vicente Cruz Memorial School in Baliuag, Bulacan; Malibay Elementary School in San Miguel, Bulacan; Juan R. Liwag Memorial School in Gapan, Nueva Ecija; Tabing-ilog Elementary School in Marilao, Bulacan; San Juan Elementary School in Apalit Pampanga; Sto.
