Together with CDA Regional Director, Ms. Marieta P. Hwang, CDA Asec. Virgilio R. Lazaga conducted an ocular inspection of the soon to be the Cooperative Training Center located at Ligas Kooperatiba ng Bayan sa Pagpapaunlad last February 5, 2021.

LKBP CEO, Ms. Julita D. Nazar accompanied Asec. Lazaga, Director Hwang, Sr. CDS Chief CPDAS Nelson Evangelista, and PCDS Troy Sunga inside the building.

The construction of the Cooperative Training Center is intended to highlight the cultural and historical values of Bulakeños and Filipinos

LKBPFI GIFT-GIVING PROGRAM

December 2020

Ligas Kooperatiba ng Bayan sa Pagpapaunlad (LKBP) in coordination with Ligas KBP Foundation, Inc., donated 50 packs of goods containing 5 kilos of rice with 2 pieces of noodles and 4 boxes (2 small and 2 big boxes) of mix and unused clothes to 5 LKBP Branches during their Gift-giving program happened on December 2020.

The 5 branches then selected 25 families from their barangays who will receive the donations.


LKBP OPENS CABALEN RESTAURANT

Another milestone for Ligas Kooperatiba ng Bayan sa Pagpapaunlad (LKBP) as they announced the opening of their owned Cabalen Restaurant at Vista Mall Malolos on December 17, 2020. LKBP, as franchisee of Cabalen Restaurant make it possible for Cooperative to engage in business. The blessing was officiated by Rev. Fr. Arnold Bungay of Holy Spirit Parish of Alido Heights, Malolos with ribbon cutting ceremony led by LKBP Chairperson Lucila J. Punongbayan, CEO Julita D. Nazar, CDA Region 3 Director, Marieta P. Hwang , and Malolos City Mayor representative, Atty. Loribelle Tagulao-Castro. LKBP CEO, Ms. Julita D. Nazar together with the Board of Directors and Management staff was very excited for the opening of the restaurant. “I just want to thank everybody who are here for gracing this Grand Opening. I am very thankful for the support you gave to us and finally, our very own Cabalen Restaurant is now ready to serve you. We are happy that despite of the pandemic, we are able to help our government by providing job opportunities to our people here in Bulacan”, she cited during the Grand Opening ceremony. CDA Region-3 Regional Director, Ms. Marieta P. Hwang who is one of the Guest of Honor during the ceremony also shared her excitement and congratulation to LKBP for achieving another breakthrough in entering into franchise of buffet restaurant and encourage everyone to share this good news to promote Cabalen as well as the Cooperative. Also, in behalf of City Mayor of Malolos, Hon. Gilbert T. Gatchalian, his Chief-of-staff, Atty. Loribelle Tagulao-Castro graced the event as she delivered Mayor Gatchalian’s congratulatory and inspirational message to LKBP. Important guests present during the ceremony came from Cabalen Business Development and Franchising Corporation, Vista Mall, City of Malolos, Cooperative Development Authority, Bulacan Federation of Cooperatives, City Training Employment and Cooperative, Landbank of the Philippines, Social Security System, Barangay Council of Longos, Malolos and other partners. Ms. Lanie Babista of BUFECO, Mr. Paulino Tiongson, Jr. of Landbank Malolos, Longos Brgy. Captain Mr. Roberto Ganelo was also present during the ribbon cutting ceremony. Mr. Dean K. Dayao, Director of Cabalen BDFC led by Cabalen group represented by managers, Ms. Lorena S. Salvador, Ms. Julie S. Volante, Ms. Mafien Atacador and Ms. Mary Ann Villamater; and Chefs Ms. Siony Agila and Mr. Tuti Muncal. Cabalen Restaurant is now open to serve fine dining and buffet style, located at at 2nd Level, Vista Mall Malolos, Brgy. LIGAS KBP FOUNDATION SUPPORTS TRADE FAIR

November 27-30, 2020

LKBP Farm Tourism was invited by the Department of Trade and Industry-Malolos to join the Locally Sourced Trade Fair at Robinsons Starmill Pampanga last November 27 to 30, 2020. LKBP then chooses Mushiness by Ms. Shine Alcantara and Jerry Alcantara who were also proud LKBP Member of Cabanas Branch. They are mushroom growers from Malolos, Bulacan, and LKBP Farm Tourism invited them to join the trade fair where they can sell their own healthy and delicious products from mushrooms like chicharon, shanghai, siomai, embutido, burger patty, and nuggets.

The four-day trade fair also created an avenue both for the LKBP Farm Tourism and Ligas KBP Foundation to extend their programs in the local and international market.


Virtual Livelihood Training –“Bitso Making”

Due to the pandemic, millions of Filipinos have lost their jobs. Therefore, they lost their source of income for their day-to-day living. Also, the effect of coronavirus caused depression and fear to everyone. So, Ligas Kooperatiba ng Bayan sa Pagpapaunlad through Ligas KBP Foundation, Inc., conducted a livelihood training called "Bitso Making" to help them gain income and divert their attention to more positive things. The said activity was conducted via Facebook live and has gained 6,211 views.


Balik Kalinisan at Kaayusan Program

To make the environment more safe and sound, Ligas KBP Foundation, Inc., conducted the “Balik Kalinisan at Kaayusan Program” inside the LKBP Compound last July 2020 to gather and bring back again the cleanliness and orderliness of the area after months of total lockdown due to Covid-19 pandemic.

LKBP distributed 10 kilos of rice to all its members during the Community Quarantine imposed particularly in Central Luzon where most of their members are living. Following all the safety health protocols against Covid-19, LKBP was able to extend its help to all its members across Central Luzon. Also, initial rice vouchers of five (5) cavans of rice were given to eight (8) barangays in Bulacan, namely; Brgy. Ligas, Bungahan and Sumapang Matanda, Malolos, Bulacan; Brgy. Sta. Rita, Pritil, Sta. Cruz and Tuktukan, Guiguinto, Bulacan, and Brgy. Tabang, Plaridel, Bulacan through their Barangay officials for distribution to their respective areas.


LKBP Participated: Be a Hunger Warrior 10.10.10 Campaign to End Hunger Together

Happening simultaneously nationwide, Ligas Kooperatiba ng Bayan sa Pagpapaunlad through Ligas KBP Foundation, Inc., participated in the 10.10.10 feeding program held on October 10, 2020 initiated by NATCCO’s Kusina ng Kalinga (KNK), Ateneo LSE-OF LIFE Program and Gawad Kalinga to raise awareness on the high rate of hunger happened during the time of pandemic that causes malnutrition and stunted growth of children. It aims to feed 10,000 children nationwide in the Philippines through sponsorship of cooperatives, local government units, civi organizations and other participating agencies. A number of 500 communities and barangays joined this program and fed hungry children in their areas. CEO Mrs. Julita D. Nazar led LKBP in feeding the chosen one hundred kids in Barangay Calero in the City of Malolos, Bulacan through coordinating with Barangay Captain, Mr. Josefino M. Santiago. Packed foods and toys were distributed to children at their homes wherein they were being required to wear face masks as one of the protocols of their barangay. Facemasks made by LKBP Garments were also distributed. As additional aid, LKBP donated 5 sacks of rice to Barangay Calero, as part of the community drive of LKBP. The activity was streamed live via facebook page of Ligas KBP Foundation, Inc. This campaign will continue nationwide to feed one hundred thousand children.


DAR ITEMA AWARDEE 2018

Out of 5,228 DAR-Assisted Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Organizations (ARBOS) nationwide, Ligas Kooperatiba ng Bayan sa Pagpapaunlad (LKBP) awarded as the Top 63 ARBOs last August 9, 2019 at Department of Agrarian Reform Office in Baliuag, Bulacan. I.T. Enabled Maturity Assessment (ITEMA) is a system developed by DAR to come up with a comprehensive and realistic results of assessing the levels of maturity of the DAR- assisted agrarian reform beneficiaries organizations (ARBOS). LKBP BOD CHAIRPERSON ELECTED AS NATCCO BOARD OF DIRECTOR- LUZON

Held last April 26-28, 2019 at Grand Xing Imperial Hotel in Iloilo City, LKBP BOD Chairperson, Ms. Lucila J. Punongbayan was elected as Member of NATCCO Board of Directors-Luzon. Punongbayan got a high percentage of total votes from all Coops in Luzon. The election happened during the NATCCO 17th Coop Leaders Congress Day with the theme NATCCO 4.0 Positioning Cooperatives in a Digital Economy.


WOCCU CONSULTANTS VISITS LKBP

Ligas Kooperatiba ng Bayan sa Pagpapaunlad (LKBP) was chosen as one of the respondents of the World Foundation for Credit Unions, an affiliate of the World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU) to be part of their Research Technical Assessment to design an open-loop, low cost, real-time payment platforms for its global network of Credit Unions (CUs).
